Joy 25th March 2020

As a family, we first met John when Pete and Annie got engaged and when he ran 'Thrifty shoppers' in Liscard-one of the original bargain shops! Our paths crossed at many family occasions over the years-he was always friendly and chatty, joining the smokers outside now and again. We remember the huge bar of Toblerone he had won in a charity auction and presented to his much loved nephews Con and Bren who found various ways of eating it, including on porridge. John and Joan and I enjoyed Boxing Day dinner with Pete, Annie and the boys. It was a really happy chatty occasion enhanced by Annie's amazing cooking. John seemed so well, talking about different groups he had seen over the years, how difficult it is to buy turkey eggs these days and of course we had to laugh at the cracker jokes. A lovely friendly, community caring man . God bless John RIP. Joy G.
